Convert Ukrainian or Cyrillic into safe VBA ChrW code
Some Windows VBA editor configurations do not preserve Unicode when you paste non-ASCII characters into source code. Using the Excel cell number format does not change how the VBA editor stores those source literals.
- Open Text to VBA ChrW and paste text such as
Привіт. - Copy the output VBA expression, for example
ChrW(&H041F) for the letter П. - Use the expression in a
String assignment or MsgBox, review it, then run your macro in a backup workbook. - If copied text includes invisible trailing line breaks, check the counter and enable the option to remove them.
Surrogate pairs are used for characters beyond the basic multilingual plane, such as many emoji. The tool emits UTF-16 code units rather than assuming one code unit per visible character.
Convert CSV to JSON without losing records
A CSV field may include commas, newlines and double quotes when it is properly quoted. Choose comma, semicolon or tab as the delimiter when automatic detection is wrong. Turn on headers only if the first row contains column names.
Example: name, city and "Alex, Jr",Kyiv must produce a single name value containing the comma. Rows with empty values are preserved. When CSV headers repeat, the converter creates distinct JSON keys instead of overwriting an earlier column.
Use CSV to JSON and verify the result before feeding it into another system.
Understand Excel separators and column numbers
Excel may use commas or semicolons between arguments depending on regional settings. Our formula separator tool leaves delimiters inside double-quoted text untouched, but it is not a full formula parser: check decimal separators, arrays and structured references in Excel.
For column references, A is 1, Z is 26, AA is 27, and XFD is 16384. Test transformations on a copy of your workbook.
